Dan Ryan Builders

Dan Ryan Strong… Delivering Quality, Service, Price

Dan Ryan Builders entered the Charleston market five years ago, bringing a commitment to quality and value that resonates with a steadily growing number of homeowners. While the overall number of new homes built in the greater Charleston area has been drastically reduced over the last four years, Dan Ryan Builders has grown and continued to develop land and add communities to its portfolio. Reflecting the depth of that commitment is the fact that the company, new to the area, sold 31 homes in 2007, followed by 48 in 2008, 83 in 2009, and 109 in 2010. This year, Albert van Overeem, Charleston Division President at Dan Ryan Builders, anticipates sales in excess of 140 new homes in and around Charleston.

Van Overeem believes the company's success has been their ability to provide the best value in homeownership, and the niche created by building quality one- and two-story homes competitively priced from the low $120s to the upper $200s, has allowed for that growth.

“We believe Charleston is the place to be during the housing market recovery,” says Brian Wagner, general sales manager at Dan Ryan Builders. Supporting that belief, Builder magazine ranked Charleston as 5th out of the 20 healthiest housing markets in the country, March 2010.

Based on customers’ comments, the Dan Ryan team does exactly what it says it’s going to do: Deliver high-quality construction at value pricing while making customer service a priority. In fact, the corporate philosophy, “creating the best value in home ownership,” is built on the cornerstone that promises quality, service and price.

“There are more features included in our homes compared to those of our competitors,” explains Wagner. “Many of our buyers have gone out and looked at all the other builders in the area. Then when they come to Dan Ryan Builders they see the value we provide.”

Dan Ryan started his homebuilding company in 1990, but his family has been in the business for more than 70 years— since his grandfather first began building homes in Castle Shannon, Pa. Dan Ryan Builders, now celebrating over 20 years in business, continues to develop communities and build in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

“It’s not only about the home, but how comfortable you are purchasing the home. At Dan Ryan Builders it didn’t feel like they were trying to sell me something. They were like my friends, unlike other places where they hound you where there’s no doubt in your mind that they’re trying to sell you something.

Melissa, my sales agent, made the home buying process enjoyable and all worthwhile. She was extremely knowledgeable and assisted me whenever I thought things were getting shaky. The people at Dan Ryan not only care about the buyer, but they take your family into consideration as well. I have a 2-year-old and we all know they can be very antsy. However, this was no problem for the folks at Dan Ryan. I can honestly say I would recommend them to anyone who was purchasing a home. It’s not just a job for them; it’s something that they really enjoy doing. … The Galliard Family, College Park Village

“We fell in love with Bridlewood Farms from the moment we found it. The amenities the community offers are great. Love the pool, playground and stocked fishing pond. We are excited for what this community has and what it will become.

Sarah, our saleslady, was such a pleasure to work with. Her positive energy made us want to be a part of this community. Joe, our builder, has always been very easy to get hold of and is always prompt in attending to our concerns. We tell this to people who are shopping in the community.

Every minute in our new home has been a dream come true. It is wonderful to be a part of such a family-friendly community. We will gladly tell anyone looking for a home to shop at Bridlewood Farms.” … Richard Siluk and Kim DiDonna, Bridlewood Farms

“I would like to say how much we enjoyed having Dan Ryan build our home. The staff at Palmetto Village was very helpful in every way. My wife and I visited the subdivision about every three days to check on our home and we were amazed with the productivity.

As a retired homebuilder, I can’t say enough about the quality of their work. They stand behind their homes with an excellent warranty. We work for a company in Goose Creek and have told some employees about Dan Ryan. Two have already signed contracts with them. If you want good neighbors and a little country living, look at Palmetto Village.”… Daryl and Sonda Lemacks, Palmetto Village at Spring Grove Plantation

Dan Ryan Builders exceeded my expectations. They truly were a delight to purchase a home from. They are a company of integrity and craftsmanship, and I have worked on construction sites with a previous business I owned, so I know of what I speak. Dan Ryan’s crews are meticulous, and my walk through was a delight. In summary, Dan Ryan Builders exceeded my expectations and anyone searching for a builder need look no further. If you are looking to buy an existing home, I would encourage you to at least come talk to Dan Ryan’s realtors and consider a new build. I could not find a better value or better quality anywhere else, not even with the many homes available on the market. ...The McGuire Family, Sophia Landing
